Mati is the only city in, and the capital city of, the Province of Davao OrientalPhilippines.
That is, according to wikipedia.

Was not supposed to be here, but, the gods of travel made this happen.
This is a much needed break from all the hustles and bustles in the city life.

I can stare at this view all day.

I love DAVAO like I love my enchilada.

-posted from my old blog-
Circa 2010.

Just got back from Davao! The place is just amazing! I cant believe how developed the city is!

If I blindfold you and bring you to Davao City, You're gonna think you're still in Manila!
Oh Wait, Davao is way better than Manille!

So many places to go to! Strips and strips of restos and clubs and the city is so clean like everything is gleaming, like everything was just built yesterday! Even the jeepneys looked like they were newly painted. They even have a bigger and better branch of Kopiroti. lots of big shiny malls, Lots of subdivisions too!

Plus, the people are warm, as always.

Thank you to our kind hosts- Mr Robert Tee and Mrs. Kim Tee.

Mother (in Pink) and Mrs. Tee (in Nike shirt)

Dad (in crazy lookin' outfit with paint on his face) and Mr. Tee (normal guy)

I'm glad to meet very nice people in this lifetime.

The trip is actually a "unplanned' one for me because my Dad is attending this mason initiation which costs a lot! and 'papahirapan ka pa!" but its not Hazing y'all! Anyway, you dont wanna know that. If my dad has a blog i'm sure he'll blog about it cuz I am also sure it was one memory of his, that will last a lifetime!

This trip for me,is about ziplines! Tried two ziplines!

This one's at ZipCity 300m longer, but a lil' boring. (haha!)

This one is in SkyRider, Eden Park. 200m
If you're gonna ask me, Sky Rider is way better because its way faster. and cheaper.

Had a very fun tour at Eden Park. Its like Tagaytay - Safari Tour minus the wild beasts but bring in the flowers and plants and trees and greeneries! Reminds me of our little "Farmville" tractor trip at Mapawa.

Also on our 2nd day, Mrs.Kim's sister in law Mrs. Neri, brought us to the orchids garden. It wa blah but then Mother loves orchids! I think she did enjoy.

Meet Mrs. Yuhico, the wealthy old lady who owns hectares and hectares of orchid gardens here.

Now, Mrs. Yuhico owns this lovely house on top of the hill.....

This house has a lot of prominent visitors... wealthy politically inclined visitors.

Say, Bruno Mars, sing wit me! " I wanna be a billionaire so frickin' bad!"
Im gonna buy myself hectares and hectares of land here in Davao! Monopoly style! boo Yeah!
Then maybe, I'll get invited to this lovely house sipping tea with the hacienderos and hacienderas!
Or better yet, I'll be like Mrs. Yuhico on my retirement days, planting orchids, making tea and biscuits.

Mental note to self: I'll live here in Davao! I'll bring Krispy Kreme and Tokyo Tokyo as my business!
I'll have a house on the hill too!
And Ima say hello to ziplines and white water rafting every freakin'day!

Lovely. Just lovely.

The second time around, Gforce was closed.

Hello Dana Frias! Kelangan natin gumawa ng video ditey!

I am looking forward on seeing Taipei 101. Since, I saw this at National Geographic Channel, I was fascinated and thought that I MUST experience Taipei 101-feel! Chos!!!

No, really, I'm here for the bubble teas and street food! Yun lang talaga.

Ok fine, siguro para makita na rin ang lumang F4.
hahahaha. That was a joke. I never watched Meteor Garden nor Meteor Rain and then the solo series of Jerry Yan with that Ella from Hana Kimi- what's that series called? - Ah! Down with Love. Oh no, I never watched them!
Dami kong sinabi. Dami kong alam! (-Dana F.)

INDOCHINA.

Hmmm...Vietnam, except that they say its cheap here, I look forward to seeing my idol chef Luk Nguyen.

You gotta love this guy! Ang dumi ng kawali niya and he uses his hands and his old chopping knife to cook...pero ang sarap pa rin ng  itsura ng food! You're the man!

Of course I'm looking forward to seeing Angkor Wat.

And mental note to self, kelangan naka-costume! Angelina-Jolie-tombraider style! Not the black spandex!! I meant..this one...look below.

A must na nakaganito.
In Thailand, I look forward to riding the elephant... for freeee! *wink* Goqs!

Ang sarap ng upo ni Ateh!
Oh well. Wake me up when September August ends.

Akala mo lang Malayo, pero Hinde Hinde Hinde!!!

After 48 years...
Finally, had time to post something! Actually, I'm just tamad most of the time.

Anyway, my our dream of going on a roadtrip finally came true! We initially wanted to go South to Bicol Cam Sur for some fun lovin butanding watching and action packed ATV. Unfortunately, most of us cant afford to go on a long vacation leave.

So, we decided to go to the North!!!

Hello, Roadtrip. You were fun. I think I gained 5 pounds after. Oh well.

1st stop was Vigan.
(By the way, I specially instructed the girls to bring costumes (Baro Saya or Manang skirts and blouse) to Vigan, I  brought my Katipunero outfit, but then again, I was tamad to change when we arrived at Vigan)

We posed too much. We should've blended with the place and the instagram mood. But then again, who would want to look and feel old?

of course, you have to ride the calesa. It is the highlight. haha

The creepy bell tower. I climbed all the way to the top the last  time I went here.
at Padre Burgos museum. I felt bad that I actually forgot who Padre Burgos was. It only occured to me he was one of the GomBurZa priests from gradeschool history.
another Church. I didn't bother to jot down the names of places/ churches.
We stayed overnight at My Vigan Home then headed to Laoag the following morning.

Laoag - Sand Boarding.

4x4 ride at the Sand Dunes. It was freaky cool.

Of course, jump shot!

and another one!
Went back to Java Hotel to freshen up then headed to Bangui for the windmill and Kapurpuran rock formation.

the colors feel nostalgic.
Ay shempre, dapat talaga may lovers sa background? CHE!

After Bangui, headed to Kapurpuran Rock Formations where Goqs and Jayme rode donkeys and probably gave them a sprain!

proof that donkeys are being maltreated.
the view is just amazing. I feel like I'm in one of those Lord of the Rings setting.

Cheers to friendship and the ever trusty Toms

went back to Vigan for lunch and made a side trip to Paoay Church

All in all,
ROADTRIP is fun especially when you're travelling in a small group.
It was a 9 hour drive but it felt like it was just 3 hours.

Oh, here's a "crazy" song for y'all.
At some point, you'd ran out of things to talk about and realize, oh hey, let's make a foolish video!
